WHO IS RELIANT?

Reliant.org is our trusted partner and our preferred platform for processing financial gifts for Hope Community Church or the Paredes Family. Their focus is to provide churches and missionaries with training, coaching, and resources to help them live out the Great Commission and pursue their calling.

Reliant.org is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible for U.S. residents.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

End of year giving statements are published in January to ensure that we have processed all of the December gifts first. Your End of the Year Giving statement will be mailed to your address on file and will be available digitally in your online account by January 31st.

Help us go paperless! We encourage all of our donors to update their communications preferences so they only receive digital copies of their statements. You can change your preferences to opt out of mailed statements by navigating to the “My Profile” section of your account on reliant.org and going to the “Notifications” page.

You can give in a variety of ways. Some of the most common ways to give are by check, credit card, direct debit, stocks and securities, and cryptocurrency.

Reliant is happy to accept your gift of cryptocurrency as a charitable gift for the important work of ministry.

Reliant accepts gifts via our account with Engiven. The Engiven platform is a third-party vendor-provided donation software technology that enables nonprofits to safely and securely receive cryptocurrency donations and then convert those donations into U.S. dollars.

To cancel giving, go to Reliant.org and click on My Account. Sign in to your account and go to the giving dashboard. From there, you will be able to edit the active gifts section.

A special gift is the same as a one-time gift; a gift that is not recurring.

Giving a regular monthly amount allows Hope Community Church to plan ahead.  A budget allows us to plan with consideration our expected financial resources.

    • The term “recurring” emphasizes the repetitive nature of the donation, indicating that it happens repeatedly at specified intervals.
    • Recurring gifts can be set up to occur automatically through various channels, such as online platforms, direct bank transfers, or credit card transactions.

We are happy to accept your gift of stock or securities as a charitable gift for the important work of ministry.

Our partner, Reliant, will process gifts via their brokerage accounts with Charles Schwab.

Tax Benefits

There may be significant tax benefits to your gift of stock or securities.

  • You will not be required to pay any capital gains tax on any appreciation of the asset
  • If you have held the property for more than one year (resulting in long-term capital gains), you may be entitled to an income tax deduction for the fair market value of the property as of the date you donate that property to Reliant.

Initiating Stock Gift

Gifts are initiated by a letter of intent to your brokerage.

State that you wish to transfer stock (or other securities, if applicable) from your brokerage account to Reliant’s Charles Schwab account as a charitable donation. The letter should include the following information:

  • Your name and brokerage account number.
  • The full name and exact number of shares of each security you wish to transfer.
  • Reliant name and Charles Schwab account number.
  • The Depository Trust Corp. (DTC) number for the transfer.
  • The name of the final recipient: Hope Community Church FD2503
  • Please be sure to sign and date your letter (both spouses must sign if joint account).

We understand that circumstances can change. To place any recurring gift on hold, Login to your Donor Dashboard Choose Make Changes Place a gift on hold. Gifts on hold will not transfer while they are on hold. You must remove the hold for the gift transfer to continue. Missed gifts will not be made up automatically.
